Meet Sam, who looks after “the FIELDFIX family”

This week we meet Sam, she’s like the ‘mother hen’ of FIELDFIX! She is an amazing people person and takes great care of all of us in the office as well as all our FIELDFIX customers. She is super, duper organised when it comes to accounts and admin, and keeps FIELDFIX ticking along nicely! Her role touches every area of the business and we often refer to Sam as ‘the glue’ that brings all things together!

Originally from the UK, Sam has held several international sales and marketing roles focussed on multi-national corporates and built a career in international product sales throughout Europe. She has brought to FIELDFIX a wealth of knowledge and experience in both product positioning and internal business processes. But what she’s enjoying most about working with FIELDFIX is the people management. Sam really enjoys getting to know people and she always finds time to ask how things are going, has a good listening ear and has a real knack of just getting things sorted!

Unlike her husband Dave, (Technical Director, FIELDFIX), Sam does not have a technical background so in order to pass the ‘Sam test’, she asks for little technical jargon and a good explanation of what the product does and how it will benefit our customers! Sam keeps FIELDFIX real, focussed and practical.

Sam has a BA (hons) in Languages for Business majoring in German and Spanish. She might be the best of British, but she enjoys a good German beer and is quite partial to tapas and sangria, preferably in Barcelona!

Over the last 4 weeks we’ve introduced you to the management team, but the FIELDFIX family doesn’t end there. With our amazing technical support staff, watch out for more introductions coming your way real soon.

Alternatively, contact us today to find out more about FIELDFIX. We’d love to hear from you.

Software as a Service, Support

Meet Pete, with a truck load of experience and personality he really is “one of a kind”

Here at FIELDFIX we all agree our Pete is “one of a kind”. A straight up, no non-sense kind of guy who is always prepared to go that extra mile to help. Add to the mix his 20 years’ experience in the utilities contracting industry means Pete brings real coal face experience to FIELDFIX.

He understands the practical needs of field crew out in the field, as well as managing a business. He knows about the ‘pain of paperwork’, and used to spend many late nights administrating his business. It was Pete’s vision for a smart system that would enable his field crew to administrate his business from the field that was the catalyst for FIELDFIX. “It had to be simple for it to succeed so that the fat fingers and thumbs out there would use a system they believed in and understood,” said Pete.

Pete believes very strongly in working smarter, not harder and continues to tell our tech team what the “real world” needs the system to do. It is his wealth of field experience combined with his forward thinking approach to business admin that really sets FIELDFIX apart from other software companies.

Pete also believes in ‘integrity without excuse’ and is passionate about helping FIELDFIX businesses grow. Pete is always happy to share his knowledge and experience, and give tips on how best to use FIELDFIX. For Pete, continued support of our customers is as important as the software itself.

Good on ya Pete! Surf’s up, go catch that wave… did we mention he likes surfing?

Meet Dave, the ‘technical guru’ of FIELDFIX or as we like to call him the ‘IT geek’!

Dave’s passion is new product development, and he just loves being put to the test to deliver dynamic development requests from our FIELDFIX team and customers. Off he disappears into his “little dark cave,” and doesn’t reappear until he’s cracked it! Is there anything Dave cannot do?

His core technical skills have been put to the test very successfully over the last 20 years in a number of senior technical and management roles both in NZ and overseas. These include Intel, AT & T, Nortel, General Motors, Reed Elsevier, Vector and Electrix.

Yet while Dave is the overall product architect for FIELDFIX and drives our specialised development team, he also backs our Software as a Service philosophy one hundred percent. Not only does he believe strongly about providing on-going support for our customers, he is also committed to providing smart software solutions that can integrate and support your existing business systems.

Dave brings to FIELDFIX enterprise grade IT infrastructure but with the heart and soul of a small growing business, and makes working smarter not harder, not only easy but fun too.

Nice one Dave. Keep calm and SUP on! (Because when Dave’s not busy designing innovative software….you’ll find him off paddle boardingJ)

Next week we’ll be introducing you to Adrian. But in the meantime, you can find out more at meet the team.

Reliability, Integration and Control, 3 key factors when choosing your cloud-software

A recent article on cloud computing and how to choose the right service partner for your business highlighted 3 key components to keep in mind during your search process: reliability, integration and control. We decided to take a closer look at what they had to say and share how FIELDFIX compares.

1. Reliability: “The consistent reliability of IT services is crucial for any business.”

We couldn’t agree more. When the system your business depends on shuts down it can cause all kinds of stress, not to mention the actual cost of downtime. That’s why at FIELDFIX our hosted infrastructure includes best of breed servers, redundancy, data recovery and data security.

Furthermore, FIELDFIX’s core design was founded on the philosophy that everything we do is to help our customers work smarter, not harder, so that they can stay ahead of the game. That’s why we made sure our smart software works offline. So if your field crew is out in a remote area without cellphone coverage FIELDFIX still works, capturing the information ready for sending when the crew is back in coverage. This means things aren’t going to be missed just because a job is exceptionally remote.

When it comes to providing a consistent, reliable service, our customers are confident to leave IT to us. We take care of the “geeky” stuff, leaving you to get on with doing business.

2. Integration:  “integration of cloud services can introduce a host of new support, billing and management complexities”

With over 20 years’ experience in software design and development we understand the importance of integrating new systems with your current business operations. FIELDFIX was built to integrate and integration continues to play a key role in our ongoing product development. We welcome the opportunity to work actively with your existing software suppliers to ensure all systems talk to each other, just the way you want it.

3. Control: “controlling and managing your new cloud services should not create an additional burden on your IT team”

At FIELDFIX we’re not just about the software. We understand that implementing new software is a cultural change for your business. It involves re-training your staff, changing and adapting your processes, and more importantly your team need to believe in it and want to use it, because if they don’t, you’ve got nothing!  When customers come on board with FIELDFIX we personalize our training programmes to suit your business needs. Our hands-on training and support make sure your guys are up and running in no time.

Whilst we certainly don’t presume to be the best at everything, we are confident that FIELDFIX is, without a doubt, a stable, robust, tried and proven software solution. Our customers can rest easy that when it comes to reliability, integration and control FIELDFIX ticks all the boxes.

FIELDFIX Software as a Service

With so many definitions out there for Software as a Service or Saas, let’s keep it simple. A true Saas is when the software you are using is being managed and hosted by another organisation.  Maintaining, customising and upgrading on-site software is a time-consuming, expensive and risky business. Add to this the burden of ongoing software upgrades and customization, it is understandable why more and more companies are choosing Software as a Service.

Furthermore, the move away from on-site software management to cloud based hosted systems has opened up a whole new level of information management opportunities that were historically out of reach for SME’s. Now all sizes of companies can afford to have the right software systems in place to help them manage and grow their businesses.

So should you jump on board? And if so how do you choose the right Saas provider with so many to choose from?

When you join up with FIELDFIX we guarantee that you’ll get the total experience. With over 20 years’ experience in both the software development and field service industry, FIELDFIX ticks all the boxes. Our technical team work hard to ensure our software remains innovative and responsive to the needs of our customers, delivered in a practical no-nonsense design that leaves your management and field crew wanting to use it.

With FIELDFIX you also don’t need to worry about data security as FIELDFIX has a robust, secure software infrastructure built to Enterprise grade giving you the confidence that your business has maximum data security at all times.

However, we are not just about the software. True to Saas, FIELDFIX is about delivering a great service too. Right from the very start we work closely with our clients to ensure what they want, is what we deliver. From initial business mapping, to set up of their very own system, training and ongoing personal support – we cover it all.

We also understand jumping on board with new technology can be a bit scary at first. That’s why our tailored training programmes ensures a gradual roll out. We find that when broken down into manageable sized chunks, both office and field crew are up and running with FIELDFIX in no time at all.

Contact us and we’ll happily talk you through how it works.
