On the right path

After an exciting round of visits last month we are delighted to welcome new customers to the FIELDFIX family. More and more we’re hearing how we are really good at getting the right information, to the right people, from anywhere, any time, with the emphasis always on flexibility for our customers and the ability to customise any mobile form fast!

Just recently Troydon Contractors took advantage of this flexibility by utilising our FIELDFIX Custom Fields feature and adapting the FIELDFIX mobile forms to suit their business needs.

With more onsite training sessions planned this month, it’s great to see FIELDFIX Job Management appealing to a diverse range of businesses from civil and construction to energy and many more.

We are always pleased to gain first hand feedback from the people who use our software and the responses continue to be very encouraging. Above all, it’s good to know that our founding philosophy and vision for FIELDFIX job software is hitting the mark.

“Smart job management software that the fat fingers and thumbs out there will want to use. The coal face users don’t need pretty, they need practical.” (Peter Cooper, co-founder of FIELDFIX)

Thanks to our customers for their continued support and honest feedback, and for helping us make FIELDFIX much more than just a job management system.

Why field crew and business owners give FIELDFIX job management software the big thumbs up!

One of the key benefits customers really like about FIELDFIX job management software is just how easy it is to use in the field.  From the very beginnings FIELDFIX product development has focussed on the practical needs of field crew and how we can best help them capture the information from the field in real time and get it back to where the business needs it. Peter Cooper, GM FIELDFIX with over 20 years’ experience in the civil and utilities contracting industry emphasizes that: “The coal face doesn’t need pretty, they need practical.”

As well as being practical for field crew, one of the other key benefits business owners and management alike value is the systems flexibility. In order to stay ahead of the game, businesses need to be able to adapt to change quickly. FIELDFIX job management offers complete flexibility to scale up or down to suit your business needs. Built to work in any business FIELDFIX caters for small companies with minimal users up to large international organisations where managing multiple contractors and complex jobs in real time is crucial.

FIELDFIX ticks all the right boxes not just for field crew but for management too.

Job management software that does what you need it to

There are many software systems and apps out there claiming they can do this and that for your business. Most of them probably can, but do your research first. Will you have to buy add-ons for it to do what you really need it to do? How easy is it to use? Will it integrate easily with your existing business systems?

The difference between FIELDFIX and other job management systems is that our product design initially focussed on the practical needs of field crew, and how we could best help them capture information in the field. “It had to be simple for it to succeed, so that the fat fingers and thumbs out there would use a system they believed in and understood,” said Peter Cooper, FIELDFIX GM.

From there, FIELDFIX has evolved to meet both the demands of the guys in the field as well as the complexities of managing a business with data analysis, real time business reporting, project management, scheduling, dispatch, information management and much more.

Tried and tested by field crew, office admin and business owners, and on-going consultation with our customers, means FIELDFIX software really does do what you need it to. It’s software that works, driven by the practical needs of the people who use it.

Does having smart systems in place help free up time for the important things like your people?

An article caught my attention this week that discussed the importance of listening to others when they are raising an issue of concern. Whether it’s friends, family or work colleagues, it highlighted that all too often we can trivialise other people’s concerns because it doesn’t seem important enough, in our opinion, to cause stress. The key point of note being;

“Every person’s “benchmark” for stress is different.”

(source: Mindfood, Trival Tribulations, Dr Emily O’Leary)

With our daily workloads and ever expanding “to do” lists it’s all too easy to get bogged down in the details and not make time to deal with one of the most important areas of your business – your staff. So when it comes to looking after your people and decreasing their daily stresses, does having smart systems in place help?

We spoke to one of our customers, FTTX Services, who utilises FIELDFIX automated Productivity Reporting to proactively empower their staff to want to work more efficiently. By giving them the tools they need their people are able to easily report their awesome work in the field to management. This kind of proactive, supportive approach has really helped FTTX expand their business and made work life so much more enjoyable and easier for their staff.

So, in an ever increasing tough market place, surely every additional competitive advantage a business can weld is of benefit to both the business and its staff. Finding solutions to help your people work smarter not harder, has surely got to be a win win for everyone. Freeing up invaluable time, enabling you to focus on the more important things in business like your people.

The future looks bright

After an exciting round of trips to Christchurch this month we are delighted to welcome new customers to the FIELDFIX family. More and more we’re hearing how we are really good at getting the right information, to the right people, from anywhere, any time, with the emphasis always on flexibility for our customers and the ability to customise any mobile form fast! In the latest visits it was rewarding to see both old and new customers alike making the most this flexibility by utilising our FIELDFIX Custom Fields feature and adapting the FIELDFIX mobile forms to suit their business needs, both for the Agricultural Spraying and Asphalt Industries.

With more trips planned next month, it’s great to see FIELDFIX Job Management appealing to a diverse range of businesses from civil and construction to energy and many more. We are always pleased to gain first hand feedback from the people who use our software and the responses continue to be very encouraging. Above all, it’s good to know that our founding philosophy and vision for FIELDFIX job software is hitting the mark. I guess it’s fair to say Peter Cooper, GM and co-founder of FIELDFIX with over 20 years’ experience in the civil, construction and utilities contracting industry really did know what he was talking about when he said the market was needing:

“Smart job management software that the fat fingers and thumbs out there will want to use. The coal face users don’t need pretty, they need practical.”

Thanks Pete! And thanks to our customers for their continued support and honest feedback, and for helping us make FIELDFIX much more than just a job management system.
